Lou Writer was born into a family of soulful gospel singers where at the tender age of 6, he began to display exceptional musical talent that reached far beyond his years. He was raised in a single parent home where singing and writing served as an outlet for all of the hardship and pain. Earlier in his life, while just in grade school there was a near fatal shooting of his father. On Christmas day his father was shot 21 times which placed his family in a state of shock and disarray. The reasons for the shooting are still undetermined to this day but the memories were enough to haunt this deep lyricist and compel him to look deep into himself to release love, hurt, and pain from within. The pain he has experienced as well as his joy and triumphs resonate in his music resulting in a sound that transcends across various genres. He has the ability to write, sing, dance and entertain in a way that is unforgettable. His natural musical abilities combined with his imagination and creativity provides a winning combination for a songwriter. His earliest memories of performing began when he sang for his elementary and middle school graduations. From then he went on to high school where his sultry sounds were groomed. During his interim in high school, he polished his choreography, vocals, and stage presence. He competed in several talent shows and never lost one steadily building the confidence needed to take on his biggest task. In the summer of 2006, he auditioned for Sony Urban recording artist Lyfe Jennings. His sound was so original that Lyfe called him just a week later asking him to come on tour. Leaving everything at a stand still Lou went on to New York. Afraid and excited at the same time, this Mississippi gentleman was now on his way. While on tour he performed at various venues such as The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Sundance Film Festival, and the Jazz Festival in Jamaica just to name a few. Touring until the end of 2007, Lou then decided to take his career in another direction. Utilizing all the knowledge acquired while on tour he then combined experience along with his talent to further his career in the business as a writer and solo artist.
