2 MINUTE WARNING BANDWAGON

Greetings 2 Minute Warning Bandwagon Members; especially the newest additions, FIEND & DIXIE!

This week's episode is dedicated to the former No Limit tank representer, FIEND aka Mr. Whomp Whomp. He took the time from his busy schedule to reminisce on his No Limit days as a part of selling over 75 million units. Plus, we speak about bringing a Grammy home as producer on the critically acclaimed "Carter 3" by Lil Wayne and other behind the scenes projects. And we talk about C-Murder and the hip-hop police along with his N.O. hometown and Saints. So, since this is a FIEND show, we have nothing but classic FIEND and current FIEND to keep you entertained. Preventing the Flu: Good Health Habits Can Help Stop Germs

It's flu season and no matter how much of a "G" you think you are, the flu will knock yo on your ass! According to the Centers for Disease Control, prevention is one of the best methods for beating the Flu this season. Here are some helpful tips...

The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year, but good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu. There also are flu antiviral drugs that can be used to treat and prevent the flu.

1. Avoid close contact.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.

2. Stay home when you are sick.
If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. You will help prevent others from catching your illness.

3. Cover your mouth and nose.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.

4. Clean your hands.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs.

5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.

6. Practice other good health habits.
Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.

TJ’s DJ’s hosts Celebrity Kickball Game to combat violence in the community

In the midst of various violent acts taking place throughout our communities, TJ’s DJ’s will promote their efforts to decrease street violence by hosting “Peace in the Streets Celebrity Kickball Game” to officially kick off FAMU Homecoming weekend.

Peace in the Streets will take place on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Walker-Ford Community Center (2301 Pasco St.) from 3p – 7p. The purpose of this event is to reach out to the youth through artists of the music genre of whom they may look up to and explain that violence is not the answer. This event will be a part of the TJ’s DJ’s 15th Anniversary celebration during FAMU Homecoming weekend. The event will also feature a small concert from a mobile stage, food, and a festive atmosphere that is targeted for children ages 11-18.

“The celebrities participating in this event has fans and followers that range from the ages of 7 and up,”says TJ Chapman, CEO of TJ’s DJ’s Incorporated. “With such a microscopic lens on their actions, I felt it would be good to see them taking such a huge stand against violence.”

Several local and national artists such as rappers Double-D, M-Beezy, Thrill tha Playa, Kim D, Young Cash, Haitian Fresh and Triple C’s have already confirmed their attendance and/or participation for this event. Sponsors such as Nabisco, Kraft, Harvey’s and EA Sports have also joined forces with TJ’s DJ’s in this collective effort to stop violence.

For more information about the Celebrity Kickball event or to get involved, please contact Tuesday Knight at tuesdayknightpr@gmail.com or 850.602.6288.

Gucci Mane will not appear at school concert

Gucci Mane will not be headlining this year’s annual homecoming concert. Instead, he will be replaced by rapper Plies.

According to concert promoter and disc jockey Willie “Will tha Thrill” McKenzie, Gucci Mane is unable to make the concert due to reasons beyond the university’s control. However, Plies filling-in as his replacement should not discourage concert-goers.

Sports Fans: 2 Minute Warning

This week's episode is a mark in history as we celebrate Keith's birthday along with the rest of the Libras. In the meantime, we also speak about the rise and fall of FSU football while referencing the great FSU tradition marked in the excellent book of collectibles and history by John Hinds. Plus, we speak on how Tebow is so great he just may be a Super Kaiser Sose mixed with Following The Script of Entourage and thoughts on the terrible weightlifting tragedy at USC.

And of course the music is on point with new tracks from Pitbull, Jagged Edge, Usher, T-Pain and Elephant Man. Additionally, classics from D'Angelo and Sly & The Family Stone should keep you grooving through the week.
